The S/S 2013 Catwalks were full of bold and imaginative designs and prints. Patternbank has a great sum up of the new takes on old favourites. Checks will be paired with florals, geometrics are fractured and prints as we know them from the previous years are abstracted, as the lines between them blur.
What does this mean for jewellery? When the focus is so much on the bold clothes it would be easy to say that adding jewellery is unnecessary. But if like us you feel naked without a little jewellery we’re here to help you choose what to wear with whatever print you choose.
The simplest solution is to avoid necklaces as they become lost. Instead, focus on the small details like geometric rings and earrings. Or take note of the oversized jewellery trend and wear a chunky cuff.
The important thing is to take inspiration from the clothes themselves; decide whether you want to accentuate a certain colour or detail, or if you want to wear a plainer silver or black piece of jewellery so as not to detract from your outfit. Have fun with it!
